ArtVan show at the Meg Perry Center in Portland: First Friday 4/3!

Marina Mozak creating art with Art Van

The Meg Perry Center and the ArtVan Program are teaming up to exhibit artwork from the latest session of the ArtVan’s afterschool program at Bath Middle School – AVAX (ArtVan Artists Xtraordinaire).
Students worked with visiting artist, Katie Kindred, a former ArtVan artist and summer staff, who is currently a senior in creative writing at Wells College.  Together, they explored ideas of merging art with the written word, including storytelling.
Also on display will be a variety of art from the ArtVan neighborhoods in Bath and Lewiston.

The opening is on First Friday, April 3rd from 5-8pm, and will be accompanied by delicious food from Local Sprouts Cooperative and a fun, free art project hosted by the ArtVan.  The artwork will be on display at the Meg Perry Center though Friday, May 1st.  You can view it during their normal business hours: 12-6pm Tuesday-Thursday, and12-8pm on Friday.  The Meg Perry Center is located on 644 Congress Street, ph. 207-772- 0680, www.megperrycenter.com.

There will be a special opportunity to meet the AVAX artists and engage in another fun, free art activity appropriate for all ages on Saturday, April
11th from 1-3pm.
