Thanks to the Sewall Foundation, we will begin an important strategic planning process with our board of directors and core staff members next week. Our wonderful consultant, Carol Wishcamper, will be guiding us through discussions to consider what we want ArtVan to become in the next three to five years. You have probably seen in our recent fundraiser that ArtVan has been around for 10 years… but we only gained 501c3 status in December of 2012; in many ways, we are organizationally still in our infancy. It’s an exciting time for ArtVan behind the scenes, with three new board members, three full time staff members, and many budding new partnerships coming soon in 2015. We think now is the perfect time for a strategic plan because we want to be conscientious of this growth and ensure that our mission remains at the core of our work. Doing this strategic plan in the months of November and December will give us a venue to envision our role in the local communities we serve for years to come.
