Chris Wolff Elected ArtVan Interim Board Chair

We are excited to announce that in our January Board Meeting, Chris Wolff was elected the Interim Board Chair of ArtVan. Here’s some info on Chris’ background.

Chris holds a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Maine. She is the daughter of a fifth generation master joiner cabinet maker from Copenhagen. Chris is passionate about the arts, human services, the environment, and animal welfare. Chris Wolff brings over 25 years of nonprofit management experience to share. She spent her early career working in environmental education, working with the Chewonki Foundation, Tanglewood 4-H Camp and Learning Center, and Manice Education Center in Western Massachusetts. Chris then went on to manage at-risk youth in trail construction programs through the Student Conservation Association (SCA). Chris was working with SCA when Bill Clinton enacted the AmeriCorps National Service movement. SCA received one of the first AmeriCorps grants, and Chris went on to manage their residential environmental education and trail construction program for six years.

Originally from Westbrook, Chris always wanted to return to Maine, and the opportunity arose to manage another AmeriCorps program through the Maine Conservation Corps. After five years, Chris was then hired by the Island Institute to run their Island Fellows Program where she successful in obtaining another AmeriCorps grant. After nine years with the Island Institute, Chris accepted a job as Program Officer with the Maine Community Foundation. Chris recently left this position and is now focusing on finding work to fill her passions, while also taking advantage of her skills and talents.
