Henry and Marty Restaurant and Catering announces an evening of food, art, and conviviality with a Meet The Artist Dinner on Monday, April 25. Special guest artists for this event are some of the talented visual artists who make up the staff at this established downtown Brunswick eatery.
The evening will include a three-course dinner, an exhibit of staff artist work, and casual presentations by the artists throughout the evening. A portion of the event’s proceeds will be donated to ArtVan Mobile Arts Therapy Program. This Meet the Artist event is designed to encourage community, inquiry, and fun as guests enjoy art and food in a relaxed setting.
The exhibit will be curated by Henry & Marty Co-Proprietor Paul Hollingsworth and will remain on exhibit at the restaurant through spring. Participating artists include Quincy Brimstein, prints; Alex Lavergne, digital illustration; Kathe Mickunas, paintings; Darcy Whitten, batik; Paul Hollingsworth, contemporary rug hooking, and others to be announced.
Several Henry and Marty staff artists studied fine arts in college including degree programs at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, College of Atlantic, Iowa State University, Maine College of Art, and University of Southern Maine. All have continued to learn through various artist residencies, workshops, and self directed creative exploration.
Tickets for the Meet the Artist event are $50 per person (excluding alcohol and gratuity). Doors open at 6:00PM for cash bar and socializing, program to begin closer to 6:30.
